Cacophony

This body of work was born from participation in two international artists' residencies and investigates the social fractures occurring from the proliferation of access to information. This artistic thinking style traces back to Cubism and Dada, which challenged authority in the mass media age. Cacophony is a visual and auditory depiction of the Internet's chaos. Observers can sense spontaneous networks between various icons and symbols. Overall, the semiotics are random, like on the Internet, where imagery aimlessly sparks revolutions, cancellations, and confusion. "Cacophony" reflects this unique experience of the New Media Age, where many points of view bounce around before they quickly deflect into the Internet's cacophonous fray away from the grasp of authority.
